The Disa unit is a vacuum system that is installed in the intake manifold and controlled by an electromagnetic valve. The executive unit has the form of a flap equipped with a control unit. The flap allows you to adjust the air fluctuations by changing the length of the intake pipelines. To do this, in a certain operating mode, it blocks the channels of variable cross-section. For an even torque value at low speeds, pipelines with a small diameter are used, for high speeds - a large cross-section.

What are Disa repair kits for and when are they used

Like all mechanisms, the Disa block can break down over time. There are two main reasons for the malfunction of the structural unit:

  • Unreliable connection and poor quality of the manufacturing material. For the production of the mechanism, the manufacturer uses plastic, which quickly wears out and crumbles. In addition, the device is characterized by a weak connection of the lever and the blade. In the process of operation, it loosens, there is a characteristic buzzing and cracking. The greater the wear, the greater the risk of breaking off the blade and getting it into the intake manifold, which is fraught with serious engine failure.
  • Failure of the vacuum valve, which is located in the housing of the unit. The valve membrane may burst, breaking the tightness and disabling the entire assembly.

To solve these problems, Disa BMW repair kits are specially designed to repair the system. The Disa kit includes the following components:

  • metal blade and crank arm;
  • metal rod;
  • locking washer;

The difference between the kit and the original spare part is the presence of an aluminum blade and a crank lever. The connection is fixed with a metal rod, which represents the axis of rotation and provides the structure with the necessary strength.
