In BMW cars with N57 engines, an exhaust gas recirculation system was originally installed. Simply put, the principle of operation of this system is to redirect the exhaust gases into the intake.

Due to the constant circulation of harmful substances in the manifold, the level of oxygen in the air-fuel mixture decreases, and engine parts become twice as dirty. As a result, engine elements quickly wear out and fail, and the design itself will quickly become unusable.

The recirculation system in the H57 engine includes several components. Also, from the exhaust manifold to the intake exhaust gases enter through the heat exchanger and the USR valve. After removing this system, it is necessary to block the following openings:

• In the intake manifold from the valve.
• At the outlet of the manifold.
• In the cylinder head, to redirect antifreeze to the heat exchanger.
• In a block that serves to drain the antifreeze from the heat exchanger.
• In the cylinder head through which exhaust gases enter the intake cooler.
• In 2 hoses from the inlet cooler.

All these holes are closed with the intended plugs from this kit.

How to remove swirl flaps.

First you need to remove the intake manifold. Then you need to get the axle, because the dampers themselves are built into it. Next, remove the lever that rotates this axis. Where the shutters and the axle are connected, you need to wipe with kerosene. This is done to make it easier to remove the axle. After that, get the frames and remove the flaps. You also need to clean these frames and the intake manifold. The frames must be mounted back, and the resulting hole is closed with a special plug and fixed.

Having done all these steps, you need to assemble everything back and make the firmware.
